Taco Filling

Method

Taco Filling Preparation

1

Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

2

Add Onion and Garlic

Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

3

Season the Beef

Add the taco seasoning mix, tomato paste, water, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

4

Simmer the Filling

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Taco Assembly

5

Warm the Tortillas

In a separate skillet or on a griddle, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

6

Fill the Tacos

Place a few spoonfuls of the beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla.

7

Add Toppings

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and sliced jalapeños if desired.

8

Serve

Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately with your favorite salsa or hot sauce.
