Tacos

Method

Tacos Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Taco Seasoning

Add taco seasoning to the cooked meat along with 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a generous amount of the meat mixture onto each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and sliced jalapeños.

Rice and Beans Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the white rice, 2 cups of water, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. 6

    Heat the Beans

While the rice is cooking, heat the canned black beans in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.
