Marinated Steak

Taco Assembly

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the skirt steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the meat. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Cook the steak on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain.

  2. 7

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a few slices of steak in each tortilla. Top with chopped cilantro, diced red onion, and avocado slices.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
