Tortilla Chips

House-Made Salsa

Method

Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 triangular pieces to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a batch of tortilla triangles to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain. Immediately sprinkle with salt while still hot.

House-Made Salsa

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper. Make sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeño if you prefer a milder salsa.

  2. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Season the Salsa

Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture, then add salt and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

  4. 8

    Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with the crispy tortilla chips.
