Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Milk Mixture Preparation

  1. 7

    Combine Milk Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and heavy cream until smooth.

  2. 8

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake has cooled for about 10 minutes, poke holes all over the top using a fork. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake. Allow it to soak for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  2. 10

    Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon for added flavor before serving.
