Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.

Assembling Enchiladas

  1. 4

    Prepare Tortillas

In a separate pan, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 5

    Fill the Tortillas

Spoon a portion of the beef mixture onto each tortilla, roll it up, and place it seam-side down in a greased baking dish.

Baking

  1. 6

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour the enchilada sauce evenly over the rolled tortillas. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.

  2. 7

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the enchiladas for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro on top.
