Method

Carne Asada

1

Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak and ensure it is thoroughly coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.

2

Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Eggs

3

Cook the Eggs

In a non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your liking. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Papas (Potatoes)

4

Prepare the Potatoes

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and cooked through.

Pico Salsa

5

Make the Pico Salsa

In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix well and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Frijoles (Beans)

6

Heat the Beans

Open the can of black beans and heat in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Season with salt if needed.

Toast or Tortillas

7

Prepare the Bread or Tortillas

Toast the slices of bread or warm the tortillas on a skillet for a minute on each side until they are heated through.
