Sambusa Filling

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef Filling

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced red onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add the Beef

Add the minced beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Filling

Stir in the chopped parsley, diced jalapeno, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sambusa

Take sambusa dough (store-bought or homemade) and place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center. Fold the dough over to form a triangle and seal the edges with water.

  5. 5

    Fry or Bake

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying or preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) if baking. Fry the sambusas until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side, or bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
