Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, mince the garlic, and dice the green bell peppers. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Brown the Lamb

In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the lamb pieces and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Spices and Peppers

Stir in the turmeric, black pepper, and diced green bell peppers. Mix well to coat the lamb.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Soup

Pour in the water and add salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours or until the lamb is tender.

  6. 6

    Finish the Soup

Once the lamb is tender, stir in the fresh herbs. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the soup hot alongside injera and a fresh salad.
