Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Bread

If using fresh bread, cube and toast it until golden brown. If using stale bread, simply cube it and set aside.

2

Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Remove from heat and set aside.

3

Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add diced onion and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients

4

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, chopped parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.

5

Add the Broth and Eggs

Pour the chicken or vegetable broth over the mixture. Add the beaten eggs and melted butter. Mix until well combined.

Baking

6

Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish or casserole dish.

7

Transfer to Dish

Transfer the stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

8

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the stuffing is heated through.
