Preparation
Prepare the Brisket
Trim any excess fat from the brisket, leaving about a quarter-inch layer of fat for flavor.
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
Season the Brisket
Rub the dry rub mixture evenly over the entire surface of the brisket. Wrap the brisket in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Cooking
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C).
Prepare the Cooking Liquid
In a large roasting pan, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir to combine.
Add the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket fat side up into the roasting pan. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
Cook the Brisket
Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and cook the brisket for 10-12 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).
Rest the Brisket
Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Serving
Slice and Serve
Slice the brisket against the grain and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley and pickled jalapeños if desired.
