Brown Gravy
Cranberry Sauce
Method
Brown Gravy
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
Make the Roux
Once the butter is melted, add the all-purpose flour. Stir constantly for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and golden brown.
Add Broth
Gradually whisk in the beef broth to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to whisk until the mixture is smooth.
Season the Gravy
Add soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir to combine and let the gravy simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency.
Cranberry Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, granulated sugar, and water. Stir to mix well.
Cook the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
Cool and Serve
Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature. Discard the cinnamon stick before serving.
