Dough Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar, then add yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Add the eggs, salt, melted butter, and flour to the yeast mixture, mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead and Rise

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. If using, add chopped pecans or milk chocolate chips.

  4. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

Once risen, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.

  5. 5

    Shape the Rolls

Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Final Rise

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. 8

    Make the Frosting

In a bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until combined.

  9. 9

    Finish and Serve

Once rolls are baked, allow them to cool slightly before spreading the cream cheese frosting on top. Serve warm.
