Brioche Loaf Directions
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, warm the milk until it's lukewarm. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Combine and Knead Dough
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into three equal pieces. Roll each piece into a log and braid them together. Place the braid in a greased loaf pan.
- 7
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another hour until it puffs up.
- 8
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cool and Serve
Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
