Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the T-bone steak dry with paper towels. Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until hot.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill or Sear the Steak

Place the seasoned T-bone steak on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving it, to achieve a nice sear.

  2. 4

    Flip the Steak

Carefully flip the steak using tongs. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 6

    Make Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Boil peeled and chopped potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Drain and return to pot, adding butter, cream, and minced garlic. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  2. 7

    Steam Asparagus

Trim the ends of the asparagus and steam them for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested T-bone steak and arrange it on a plate. Serve with a generous portion of garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.

  2. 9

    Add Garnish

Garnish the plate with fresh rosemary sprigs and lemon wedges for added flavor.
