Burger Patties

Buns

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, taking care not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the split top rolls.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

Cook the Patties

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each one. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Jalapeños and Rolls

  1. 6

    Slice the Jalapeños

While the burgers are cooking, slice the fresh jalapeño into thin rings. Remove seeds if you prefer less heat.

  2. 7

    Toast the Rolls

Lightly toast the split top rolls on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted roll, place a cooked burger patty with melted cheese. Top with 1 slice of bacon, a few jalapeño slices, a generous amount of onion straws, and drizzle with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.

  2. 9

    Finish the Burger

Place the top half of the roll over the toppings to complete the burger.

Serve

  1. 10

    Enjoy Your Texas Burger

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy!
