Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the N.Y. strip steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of the steaks. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until hot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Add the steaks to the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Cooking the Eggs

  1. 4

    Prepare to Cook the Eggs

In a non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat until foamy.

  2. 5

    Cook the Eggs

Crack the eggs into the skillet, making sure they don’t overcrowd the pan. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes for sunny-side up or flip for over-easy, cooking for an additional minute.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak against the grain and plate it alongside the cooked eggs. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with hot sauce on the side if desired.
