Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half if desired for shorter sticks, and freeze them for at least 30 minutes to make them easier to handle during the breading process.

Breading

  1. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow dishes, set up your breading station: the first dish with all-purpose flour, the second dish with beaten eggs, and the third dish with a mixture of bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Coat the Cheese Sticks

Take a frozen mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's completely covered. Finally, roll it in the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs. Repeat this process for all cheese sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the temperature by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; if it sizzles, it's ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Sticks

Carefully place the breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown, turning them occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Drain and Cool

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried mozzarella sticks and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Dipping Sauce

Serve the mozzarella sticks warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
