Method

Preparing the Omelette

  1. 1

    Beat the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until fully combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 2

    Prep the Meat

If using bacon, cook the slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then chop. For ham, sausage, or scrapple, chop into small pieces and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are softened.

Cooking the Omelette

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the prepped meats to the sautéed vegetables in the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook the Omelette

Pour the beaten egg mixture over the meat and vegetables in the skillet. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the eggs are set.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Once the eggs are nearly set, sprinkle the cheese on one half of the omelette. Cover again and let it melt for another minute.

  4. 7

    Fold and Serve

Using a spatula, gently fold the other half of the omelette over the cheese. Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve hot.
