Cooking Oatmeal

In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once the water is boiling, add 2 cups of rolled oats and 0.5 tsp of salt.

Stir well, reduce the heat to low, and let the oats simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and have absorbed most of the water.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken.

Add Toppings
Spoon the cooked oatmeal into bowls. Add brown sugar and ground cinnamon to taste. If desired, pour in some milk for extra creaminess.
