Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

Prepare the House Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until smooth.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or skillet for added flavor.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of house sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked burger patty on top, followed by lettuce leaves and slices of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
