Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips gently into the batter.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You may lightly grease the surface with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 6

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Repeat

Continue with the remaining batter, adjusting the heat as necessary to prevent burning.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the pancakes warm, topped with whipped cream and additional chocolate chips if desired.
