Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
Crouton Preparation
- 2
Make the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread slices into small cubes. In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated. Spread the croutons on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Caesar Dressing
In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, shredded Parmesan cheese, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Assembly
- 4
Combine Salad Ingredients
Once the croutons are ready and cooled, add them to the bowl with the chopped romaine lettuce. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine, ensuring that all the lettuce and croutons are evenly coated.
