Method

Prepare the Chicken

  1. 1

    Season the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the boneless chicken thighs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated. Let it sit for 15 minutes to marinate.

Prepare the Breading

  1. 2

    Set up Breading Station

In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined.

  2. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Take each marinated chicken thigh, dip it into the flour mixture first, shaking off the excess. Then dip it into the egg and milk mixture, and back into the flour mixture for a second coat. Set aside on a plate.

Fry the Wings

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure there’s enough oil to submerge the chicken.

  2. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken thighs into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a wire rack to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Sauce

  1. 6

    Make the Wing Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the hot sauce, honey, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Toss in Sauce

In a large bowl, add the fried chicken and pour the sauce over them. Toss until the chicken is fully coated in the sauce.

  2. 8

    Serve

Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve with celery and carrot sticks on the side.
