Cooking Instructions

1

Searing the Beef

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef sirloin tips and sear on all sides until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

2

Sautéing Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the butter and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until the onion is translucent. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender.

3

Making the Sauce

Pour in the red wine and beef broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Stir in the thyme, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

4

Combining Beef and Sauce

Return the seared beef sirloin tips to the skillet. Cover and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.

5

Serving

Remove the bay leaf before serving. Serve the beef sirloin tips in Burgundy sauce over rice or mashed potatoes, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
