Method
Preparation of Tater Tots
- 1
Bake the Tater Tots
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
Preparation of Queso
- 2
Make the Queso
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the Velveeta cheese, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and milk. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preparation of Crab Mixture
- 3
Mix Crab and Seasoning
In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat and Old Bay seasoning. Gently fold the seasoning into the crab meat, being careful not to break up the lumps of crab.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble Blue Crab Tots
Once the tater tots are baked, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter. Top the tater tots with the melted queso and then spoon the seasoned lump crab mixture over the top. Drizzle or serve with ketchup on the side.
