Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Place the basmati rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear. This step removes excess starch and helps achieve fluffy rice.

  2. 2

    Soak the Rice

Transfer the rinsed rice to a bowl and cover it with water. Allow it to soak for 30 minutes. This helps the grains soften and cook evenly.

  3. 3

    Prepare for Steaming

After soaking, drain the rice and set it aside. In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add salt to the boiling water.

  4. 4

    Steam the Rice

Place the drained rice in a steamer basket or a heatproof dish. Set it above the boiling water, cover with a lid, and steam for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and fluffy.

  5. 5

    Fluff and Serve

Remove the rice from the steamer, fluff it gently with a fork, and serve hot as a side dish or as a base for your favorite curry or stir-fry.
