Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, cilantro, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and red chili powder. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Form the Parathas

Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll each ball into a small disc, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and fold the edges to seal. Flatten gently.

  4. 4

    Cook the Parathas

Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat. Roll out the stuffed dough into a flat paratha. Cook on the skillet, applying butter or ghee on both sides, until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve hot with yogurt, pickles, or any chutney of your choice.
