Prepare the Rice
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for 30 minutes, then drain.

Add Spices and Chicken
Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften. Then add the chicken pieces, stirring well to coat them in the spices. Cook until the chicken is browned.

Simmer
Add 4 cups of water to the pot, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

Cook the Rice
In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the soaked basmati rice and a pinch of salt, cover, and cook on low heat for 15 minutes or until the rice is fluffy and water is absorbed.

Combine and Serve
Once the chicken is cooked, check the seasoning and adjust if necessary. Fluff the rice and serve the chicken curry over it, garnished with chopped fresh coriander.
