Fried Chicken Ingredients

Method

Fried Chicken Preparation

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

2

Prepare the Coating

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

3

Dredge the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Set aside on a wire rack.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the chicken pieces to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for about 8-10 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).

6

Drain and Serve

Remove the fried chicken from the oil and let it drain on paper towels. Drizzle with honey before serving warm.
