Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ham

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Remove the ham from the packaging and place it in a roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.

  2. 2

    Make the Glaze

In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, and ground black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Apply the Glaze

Brush the glaze mixture generously over the scored ham, ensuring that it gets into the crevices. If using, pour the pineapple juice into the bottom of the roasting pan.

  2. 4

    Cover and Bake

Cover the ham with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 15 minutes per pound. For a 10-pound ham, this would take approximately 2.5 hours.

  3. 5

    Baste the Ham

About every 30 minutes, remove the foil and baste the ham with the juices from the pan. Replace the foil after basting.

  4. 6

    Add Cherries (Optional)

If using maraschino cherries, place them on the ham during the last 30 minutes of baking for added flavor and decoration.

Finishing

  1. 7

    Check for Doneness

The ham is done when the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C). Remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

  2. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ham into 20 pieces and serve warm. Enjoy!
