Fried Calamari Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Dredging Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Coat the Calamari
Dip each calamari ring into the beaten eggs, then dredge them in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Calamari
Carefully add a few calamari rings to the hot oil at a time, without overcrowding the pan. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried calamari hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
