Meatballs

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form into 3 large meatballs.

2

Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3

Prepare the Sauce

In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

4

Combine

Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes.

5

Make the Bread

In a bowl, mix flour, water, yeast, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour. Shape into a loaf and bake at 220°C (428°F) for about 25-30 minutes.
