Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of fries, chips, or slaw.
