Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Salmon

In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Add Salmon to Marinade

Place the salmon fillet in the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Soak the hickory wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Prepare a grill for indirect heat and preheat to medium-high.

  2. 4

    Place Wood Chips

Drain the soaked hickory wood chips and place them directly onto the hot coals or in a smoker box if using a gas grill.

  3. 5

    Grill the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on the grill over indirect heat. Close the lid and grill for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
