Burger Patty

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions, and shape each portion into a patty that is about 1-inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4 minutes. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare Jalapeños

Slice fresh jalapeños into thin rings. If desired, remove seeds for less heat.

  2. 6

    Cook Jalapeño Poppers

If using frozen jalapeño poppers, cook them according to package instructions until crispy.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Bun

Toast the cornmeal kaiser bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread chipotle mayo on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by jalapeños and jalapeño poppers.

  3. 9

    Complete the Burger

Add the top half of the bun to complete the burger. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
