Prepare the Hot Dogs
Remove the hot dogs from their packaging and pat them dry with a paper towel. This helps enhance the browning when cooking.

Chop the onions if using fresh ones. Measure out the mustard, ketchup, relish, and shredded cheese into small bowls.

Grill or Boil the Hot Dogs
You can either grill or boil the hot dogs. To grill, preheat your grill to medium heat and cook the hot dogs for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until heated through. To boil, bring a pot of water to a boil and add the hot dogs, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.

If you prefer toasted buns, place them on the grill or in a toaster for a minute or two until lightly golden.
