Method
Grilling the Sandwich

Prepare the Bread
Take 4 slices of Texas toast and lay them out on a clean surface.

Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter evenly on one side of each slice of Texas toast.

Assemble the Sandwich
On the unbuttered side of two slices, place two slices of American cheese. Top with the remaining two slices of Texas toast, buttered side facing out.

Heat the Pan
Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

Flip the Sandwich
Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, until it is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove from Heat
Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the pan and let it sit for a minute before slicing.
