Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on top. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the desired doneness is reached.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Mushrooms

While the patties are cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Red Onion

Slice the red onion thinly and set aside. You may choose to grill them for a couple of minutes if you prefer a softer texture.

  3. 5

    Prepare the Avocado

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Slice the avocado into thin pieces.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese. Layer the sautéed mushrooms, roasted red peppers, red onion, and avocado slices on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
