Burger Patty

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

During the last minute of cooking, place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill or skillet to toast them lightly.

Making the Chili Mac Topping

  1. 5

    Cook Macaroni

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 6

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked macaroni, canned chili beans, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, and chili powder to the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through until warmed, about 5 minutes.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 9

    Top with Chili Mac

Place a cooked burger patty on each toasted bun. Generously top with the chili mac mixture.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Sprinkle cilantro on top for garnish, if desired. Serve immediately.
