Method
Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions (about 0.5 pounds each) and shape them into round patties, slightly larger than the buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
Cooking the Burger
- 3
Preheat the Grill or Pan
Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.
- 4
- 5
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover with a lid or tent with foil to melt the cheese.
Assemble the Burger
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the burgers are cooking, slice the brioche buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 7
Add Toppings
On the bottom half of each bun, place a few leaves of lettuce, a slice of tomato, several slices of red onion, and pickles.
- 8
Add the Patty
Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the toppings.
- 9
Complete the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently. Repeat for all burgers.
