Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the slices of smoked bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  5. 5

    Add the Blue Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place the blue cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the brioche buns in half and lightly toast them on the skillet or grill until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the burger patty with melted blue cheese, crispy bacon, tomato slice, and red onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
