1. Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

2. Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

3. Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
