Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Maple Bourbon Glaze

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

  2. 2

    Cook the Petite Filet Steaks

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the petite filets with salt and pepper. Sear each steak medallion for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Brush with the maple bourbon glaze during the last minute of cooking.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts. In a separate skillet, sauté the Brussels sprouts in olive oil over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes until they are crisp-tender. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

In a pot, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper to taste. Keep warm until plating.

  5. 5

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, create a bed of mashed potatoes, top with the glazed petite filet medallions, and arrange the sautéed Brussels sprouts on the side.
