For the Peach Cobbler

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Toss to coat and set aside to allow the juices to develop.

  2. 2

    Mix the Batter

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Bake

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, including all the juices. Do not stir. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.

  4. 4

    Serve

Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
