Baked Spaghetti

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Combine Spaghetti and Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce. Mix well to coat the spaghetti.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread half of the spaghetti mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the mozzarella cheese on top. Add the remaining spaghetti mixture and top with the remaining mozzarella slices and Parmesan cheese.

  6. 6

    Bake

Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  7. 7

    Serve

Let sit for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with garlic bread and salad!
