Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/3 lb each.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet, add burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Add a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom half of the bun, top with sautéed onions and sliced banana peppers, then cover with the top half of the bun.
