Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all ingredients and slice the marbled rye bread if not pre-sliced.

Assemble the Sandwich
Spread 1 tablespoon of thousand island dressing on each slice of bread. On two slices, layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. Top with the remaining slices of bread, dressing side down.

Grill the Sandwich
Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the assembled sandwich and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown.

Flip and Finish
Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet, carefully flip the sandwich, and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

Serve
Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm with extra thousand island dressing on the side.
