Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Prime Rib
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Season the prime rib roast generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place it on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
- 2
Roast the Beef
Roast the beef in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until a meat thermometer reads 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, about 1.5 to 2 hours. Remove from the oven and let rest for 20 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Au Jus
While the meat is resting, pour the beef broth into the roasting pan and heat over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the prime rib into 6 oz. portions. Place the sliced beef on the toasted bread and drizzle with au jus. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
