Fried Scallops Directions
- 1
Prepare the Scallops
Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the breading adhere better.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in the first, beat the eggs in the second, and place the breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper in the third.
- 3
Bread the Scallops
Dredge each scallop in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each scallop is evenly coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

- 6
Drain and Serve
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried scallops to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with tartar sauce.
